Artist Journal

Instructor: Carolynn Dallaire

Class description: This colourful 64 page journal, with some altered pages, is a fun, straight-forward project to make. The covers are a heavy, but foldable, paper. The inside pages are made from a large piece of light water colour paper, Arches text wove, that will be already decorated with colourful watercolour washes. We will ‘tear’ down the large paper into a usable page size..... then sew the cover and pages together using a french lace sewing style. The book, measuring 5’ wide by 6 1/2” tall, is sturdy yet flexible, colourful and most enjoyable to fill. A decorative button is often sewn on the front cover for decoration. After the book is assembled, pages can be altered if desired..... just another feature that adds appeal and mystery to this journal.
