Watercolor Magic

with Josslyn Meyers (BFA, B.ED)

Focusing on mastering the transparent washes and glazes in watercolor painting, this class will also explore composition and color theory as you work on a subject of your choice.

Cost: $90, material fee $15

Material list if required for class: A basic watercolor set with brushes and paper set of watercolors - cadmium yellow light, cadmium red, rose madder, cerulean blue, ultramarine blue, paynes grey, yellow ochre, raw sienna, burnt umber, Chinese white. Brushes - watercolor synthetic set, four sheets of 140 lb. watercolor paper, board for painting upon, tape. Student watercolour paper will be available for purchase


Introduction to Acrylics for the beginner or the experienced

Instructor: Barry Strasbourg-Thompson BFA

Introduce new or returning students to the basics of acrylic paint, mediums and tools. Fun projects are assigned to learn to apply these basics. Students will be encouraged to have fun and create acrylic paintings on subjects that they love.

Pointed Brush Writing

with Carolynn Dallaire

Pointed brush lettering is a wonderful contemporary form of handwriting. Using a round brush and watercolors, we will focus on the lower case letters of the alphabet during the first two mornings of the class followed by exploring capitals and project or two during the last two sessions. Learn to make thick and thin strokes and experiment with various forms of lettering.

Exploring the heroine’s journey through doll making with Debbie Douez and Sita Then

As a woman, we go through numerous transition throughout our lives. As we mature we do our best to age with as much grace as we can muster, accumulating wisdom along the way.

Come and explore your unique stories of transition utilizing the artfulness of doll making and the power of myth. Together we will celebrate our ever changing roles, explore what will enrich us now and what we need to carry us into our futures.

Relief Sculpture Workshop 1

You will learn to create a beautiful floral relief sculpture in this step by step informative workshop. Open to 6 students to allow one-on-one instruction, demonstrations will also be given throughout the class. All levels welcome.

SPRING SAMPLER
with Melva Peters

Come and create 9 different sampler squares using stamps, ink, and paper. You can frame them in a
12" x 12 " frame (not provided) (background card stock is provided) All pieces will be pre-cut and ready for you to stamp and assemble!  
Some adhesive will be provided, but please plan to bring your favorite adhesive for your personal use.

Come and create fantastic shapes and designs from around the world!

Let’s go on an adventure!

Kids will discover the rich world of creative design through exploration of geometric and organic shapes while being inspired by the art of Ireland, North America and India, countries rich in color! Explore using various materials, stories and artists in history and practice your skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and sculpture.

Two age groups offered

Dates: WEDNESDAYS for ages 5-8 years, group of 4 classes —- May 1 -, 8, 15, 22

THURSDAYS for ages 9-12 years, group of 4 classes— , May 4, 11, 18, 25

Time: 3:30pm-5pm Cost: $60 plus $15 material fee

Josslyn has taught youth to university and is an accomplished and award winning artist.

Open Studio Printmaking

Facilitators: Dorothy Friesen and Lottie Anderson    

Open Studio is available to those who have taken a printmaking class or who are already familiar with printmaking.  Bring in all those ideas you can't fit into your own workshop and work independently.
