The Studio's at the Waterfront Oct 2009

As the studio spaces fill up this new group is facing challenges already. The artists are settling into the space at different rates and some might already have a change of heart. Meetings will have to be held with the Ladysmith Arts Council to keep the groups coherent and satisfied. The will be a delay on an open house in the space.
Maybe a public survey on what people expect to see in artist's studios should be made so expectations made of this space can evolve.
What is a definition of an artist studio space? This is a shared artist studio space and everybody is different and everybody uses different mediums and methods towards their artistic disciplines.
Please let us know what a person would expect from a working artist's studio space (make a comment). Have people been in a working artist's studio space when it wasn't open to the public?

Also, some of you might already know that there are 2 artist's studios open downstairs. One belonging to Janice Richards and Dennis Brown. These studio's are opened by appointment only. Dennis Brown is offering workshops:
Dennis Brown - Painting abstract opaque watercolours & acrylics workshops - Ladysmith, BC Dennis Brown has opened his new studio on main floor in Unit D, next to the Maritime Society Office. He has had a successful open house already.
He is now offering workshops in abstract opaque watercolours & acrylics. For individuals or in groups of six. Openings in Oct. 20, 22, 24, 27, 29, 31 & Nov. 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 14.
