The Volunteer program at Ladysmith Waterfront Gallery provides a first-hand experience of the inner workings of the gallery. Sit the gallery, fund raise, write a grant, be part of the hanging crew, volunteer for a project or event, or be part of the opening nights team. Do as much or as little as you can, it all helps. The goal of this initiative is to create a multi-layered learning experience for the volunteer, through a more hands-on approach.
Interested candidates should have an interest in wanting to learn the inner workings of a gallery. Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to: setting up exhibitions, assisting with data entry, working with artists, cataloguing of artworks, helping with monthly openings, writing articles, advertising, greeting visitors while sitting the gallery and more.
The Art Council of Ladysmith and District has a demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity and diversity. We encourage all to be part of the Arts Council. All members are encouraged to volunteer when they can.
Each Volunteer will receive on-the-job training and be supported by other volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering please contact our volunteer coordinator Gail Ralphs at [email protected]
