Rohana's unique style is a synthesis of her education and abilities. After graduating from the Vancouver School of Art (now Emily Carr University in Vancouver, Canada), Rohana discovered Indonesian batiks. Combining her skills in drawing, painting, design and print making, she created large batik paintings using traditional application of wax and dyes. Her stylized images of Canadian and international themes became popular and for many years she exhibited and taught drawing, design and textile design. While teaching at Kwantlen College (now University near Vancouver) she began a series of repeat patterns. This interest in pattern, design and colour inspired by nature influenced her painting style when she turned to painting in acrylics and oils.  Her curiosity and keen interest in observing people going about their daily lives in various settings led her to drawing and painting plein air while travelling, especially in San Miguel de Allende where she has spent winters for many years.  Her most recent exhibitions have been at San Francisco Gallery and the Bordello Gallery in San Miguel de Allende.  Her work has been exhibited in many galleries in Canada and internationally, see her website www.rohanart.com...
